Crafting an Aesthetic - Understanding Objectives
This project began as a challenge with two objectives. First, how can I capture an aesthetic and second, I want to learn how to polish scripted events.
Creating realistic scripted events is largely about polish. I've learned that it requires not just time and effort, but also meticulous research into how similar events are executed in other games, and understanding the techniques they use to pull it off.
Crafting a distinct visual style starts with inspiration, and for this project, it was Blade Runner. Known for its iconic cyberpunk aesthetic, Blade Runner led me to explore the roots of cyberpunk, which trace back to the gritty, neon-lit streets of 90s Hong Kong.
